Service has improved so much - thank you to the staff for being more attentive! Since the Cambie location closed down I've noticed this spot get busier especially for take out. I find that the Korean style dishes here are better than other items on the menu.

Today's review is for the Udon which was better than I thought it would be. So I'm giving them a 3.5 - 4 stars for our Nabeyaki udon and kimchi udon. The kimchi had a nice sour taste to it but paired up with the soup and the Masago blended well together. Not a very colourful dish but tasty. I wish there was more to eat from this portion.
The Nabeyaki udon our Japanese Food Critique is giving it a 3 which for her it very good. I could almost say the same because the chicken had that taste that sometimes I just don't like. You know like cooked chicken blood.... other than that Nabeyaki Udon is my favourite type of Udon. It's what I grew up eating as a child. Surprise dish was the sushi. Simple maguro (tuna) sushi was surprisingly good today. Even the Japanese food critique liked it.
Oh one note we both thought the Nabeyaki Udon broth was a bit salty but that could just be us since we don't cook with salt these days. So it's a personal preference but hindered on giving it a better rating.
For real Japanese food I'd say there are better but beggers can't be choosy and they do a solid job -

Came for a very early dinner, we ordered a few items to try as this is the first time since they have taken over from the previous owners.
Sushi items:
Chopped Scallops $1.80ea / Ika $1.8ea / Toro $2.00ea / Hotategai $2.00ea / Uni $3.75ea / Amaebi $2.5ea / Unagi $2.50ea
All were fresh, sushi/rice ratio was just right, rice consistency also just right! One complain is the Toro having sinew and tough to chew on.
Overall rating for the above items 3.5/5 stars
Spicy Chopped Scallop Cone $4.50 4/5
Fresh copped scallops's seasoning was well balanced and the spiciness is just right!
Seafood Sunomono $4.50 4/5
As you can see from my photo, this comes with shrimp, octopus, hotategai. The vinegar dressing is very pleasant and not over powering.
Great item to have in between dishes to help clean your palate!
Chicken Karage $5.75 3/5
Average, a bit salty but still juicy inside.
Service is friendly and prompt, menu is pretty extensive with many items, they also have a lunch menu where you have a combination of dishes served on a tray and not in a bento box and from what I see from photos posted here they are worth a try!!
Final score: 3.6 stars

Nothing particularly special that sets this restaurant apart from the dozens of other restaurants in the area.
Sushi Aria is a simple, quiet, Korean-run restaurant serving a mix if Japanese and Korean fare. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll find yourself face to face with the sushi bar, something I found rather odd for a sushi restaurant set-up. The staff were nice, but not enthusiastically welcoming. Service was decent, with the server seemingly always on standby, waiting to tend to your every request. The decor of the restaurant was rather bland, with not much going on inside the dining area. Pricing was decent overall, nothing crazy here in terms of value.
As for food, I ordered a chopped scallop roll, a tuna roll, one piece of ikura nigiri, and one piece of tamago nigiri. Unfortunately, the rolls, while they tasted fairly average, began to fall apart when I put chopsticks to them. The tuna was okay, but the chopped scallop roll was disappointing in that it was very bland. The ikura nigiri was actually rather enormous compared to 90% of other restaurants' serving size for the same piece. This piece wasn't outstanding, but didn't taste bad at all. Finally, the tamago nigiri was what you would expect of a lower-end sushi restaurant - not too sweet, soft, and a nice way to end the meal.
Tldr: I'd recommend finding another place to eat unless your sushi craving is overwhelming and you're already in front of the restaurant. -

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for pick up. I ordered my food at 4:48pm and now it's 7:05pm. I'm told my food will take an additional 10 minutes. All I ordered was an avocado roll and chicken karaage. Then they spoke in Korean that they forgot my phone order *face palm*.
Avocado roll - good
Chicken karaage - $8 and small portion
